The Story of KVASIR

Kvasir was born from the saliva of all the gods — both the Aesir and the Vanir — mixed together at the end of their great war as a symbol of peace and shared wisdom. He was the wisest being in all the nine realms, and he travelled the world answering every question put to him, for he had no ignorance. When he was murdered by two dwarves, his blood was fermented into the Mead of Poetry — the sacred drink that gave poets, skalds, and seers the gift of inspired speech and divine insight.
